AmeriKids was co-founded by Carla Craigle and Verna Barker in February, 1997 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Carla had been forced to cope with two children and no child support. The state agencies, direct collection efforts, letters to legislators - all the way to and including President Clinton - only resulted in the same, extremely disappointing situation...no child support. Joining forces with experienced collector, Verna, child support payments soon began to arrive on a regular basis and the account was quickly paid in full. Thus, AmeriKids was born.

Eligibility for AmeriKids Services:
Custodial parents with paternity established, who have court orders for support and/or medical expenses, and custodial parent is not receiving state aid (AFDC/TANF).
Cost of AmeriKids:
Nominal registration/set-up fee and a 30% recovery fee on all monies collected (offset by interest accumulating on arrearages)
