The problem of unpaid child support is a growing national concern. According to federal statistics, more than $106 billion is uncollected—a 208% increase in just 10 years!
We all know that government resources are limited, and despite their best efforts, government child support enforcement agencies collect nothing for more than half of all families they serve. This leaves millions of parents frustrated and millions of children without the court-ordered support they’re owed. This problem is too big to ignore, and it’s getting worse.
In response to this critical need, private child support enforcement providers around the country have joined in the effort and are successfully collecting millions of dollars in unpaid child support for the families who opt to use their services.
CSEC believes that custodial parents deserve options, and private child support enforcement agencies ensure parents a valuable alternative when other avenues just haven’t worked.
CSEC will continue to do its part to ensure that all parents continue to have options, and that they receive professional and ethical services from the private providers they hire to collect their child support. CSEC will continue working toward better cooperation between private and public agencies in an effort to see that more of the $106 billion owed to America’s children is collected.
